Counseling Center Dedication - More information and pictures

Treating substance abuse doesn’t necessarily mean being away from family and friends.

If you suffer from problems with drugs and alcohol, you may not need to stay in a treatment center. The flexible programs in the Counseling Center of Family Health Care can allow you to continue working to maintain your family life.

We can help you make changes in your life by helping you stop your substance abuse and become more self-reliant.

You will learn about improving your life through individual counseling. We can share with you the personal and community resources available to help you live a happy, healthier, chemical-free life.

We also work with your family to help them learn how to get help for you and for themselves.

Finding the Answers

Alcohol and drug abuse, and chemical dependency, are treatable. At the Counseling Center, We work with you to identify your problems. Then we help you find the solution that works for you.

We encourage you to reach out to local support groups. Alcoholics Anonymous and Narcotic Anonymous offer the steady guidance and support you need on your road to recovery.

The first step on this road is yours. Call us anytime for information or advice. We’re here to help, any way we can.

One Step At A Time

At the Counseling Center, we know how much courage and determination it takes to seek and accept help. We know that staying on the road to recovery is day-by-day, sometimes even an hour-by-hour process. We can help you become aware of warning signs, and show you how to take the steps necessary to continue on the road to recovery.

An Ounce Of Prevention

We work hard in the community to prevent the ongoing adverse effects of drug and alcohol abuse. We offer a number of tested, award-winning programs for children and adolescents through area schools:

  • BABES
  • Just Say No
  • Sap
  • DUSO
  • Project Charlie
  • Duncan

Our prevention programs are flexible, and can lend themselves to a variety of special activities for area church groups, senior citizens, and youth groups. We welcome your calls for information or ideas.

Substance Abuse And Your Job

Lost time from work due to problems with drugs and alcohol can add up to billions of dollars every year. For employees who need help, we can offer assessment, education, counseling and referral services. Often, the employee can continue to work while receiving these services.

We also work with employers to help them learn the warning signs of chemical dependency.

If You Are Arrested

If you have been arrested for drunk driving, you may be referred by the court to the Counseling Center. We discuss your needs, and recommend appropriate services to the court. These drunk driving assessments are mandated by Michigan Law.

If you are convicted of drunk driving, you may be required to attend Alcohol Highway Safety Education Classes or outpatient counseling.

We also offer monitoring and education if you have lost your privilege to drive due to court convictions.

Your Services Are Confidential

We follow strict rules to protect your privacy. To allow the release of information about your care and treatment, you must provide us with written permission. Children under the age of 13 must have their parents’ written permission before we can provide services.

Pay As You Go

We ask that you pay for our services at the time we see you. We often can make arrangements to make it easier for you to pay. We also offer a sliding fee, based upon your ability to pay. Please don’t hesitate to talk to us about your personal and financial needs.

In most cases, we can bill Medicare, Medicaid, and other insurance companies for you.

You Can count on Us.

Our staff members are highly trained, and certified. They are professionals in the field of substance abuse treatment. You can rely on them to help you.
