Frederick Schmidt, DDS

Experience:

Dr. Schmidt has provided care to Family Health Care dental patients since 1998. He had a solo dental practice in Sheboygan, Wisconsin for 24 years, and worked in private practices in Michigan for several years. He also served as a captain in the United States Air Force.

Education:

Dr. Schmidt completed his undergraduate degree and his degree in dentistry at Marquette University in Milwaukee. He completed post-graduate training at the United States Air Force hospital at San Antonio, Texas.

Practice Perspective:

"Community health dentistry is a different world than private practice," Dr. Schmidt says. "In private practice, it's sort of 'out of sight, out of mind' concerning the problems and the needs in the world. The needs we see in the community health center, I didn't know were out there. For 24 years I lived in a cocoon. We do a lot of good at Family Health Care, and it is high quality work. I'm very proud of that."

Personal Perspective:

Dr. Schmidt has been married to Suzanne for 38 years. They raised six children and take great pleasure in their 14 grandchildren. While he maintains that he has "no special hobby," Dr. Schmidt wants to be outside in nice weather, tending to the garden, flowers, and the yard. He enjoys water activities - boating, water skiing and tubing - and playing with the grandkids.
