Ramer, D.O.
Experience: Medical Director at Family Health
Care from 1991 to 1993. Family practice physician and medical director for
10 years at the Evart Clinic of Reed City Area Services. From 1976 to 1990
he had a solo practice in Big Rapids. Earlier he worked as an emergency room
physician at Mecosta County General Hospital.
Certification: Board Certified, Family Practice
Medicine
Medical Education: Completed post-graduate
training at Memorial Osteopathic Hospital in York, Pennsylvania. Earned his
degree in Osteopathic Medicine at the College of Osteopathic Medicine and
Surgery in Des Moines, Iowa, and his undergraduate degree at Michigan State
University. Dr. Ramer has a special interest in diabetes management.
Practice Perspective: Dr. Ramer will provide a
broad range of primary care medicine. "I think Family Health Care is a great
place to work. We offer a true mix of family practice here - male and
female, infants and elderly. It is a very enjoyable scope of practice."
Personal: Enjoys murder mysteries and other
casual reading, and hopes, after a 15-year hiatus, to take up golf again.
(He says he recently bought a new set of wedges to get himself going.) A
speed boater, Dr. Ramer says he's also been giving thought to buying a small
sailboat.
