About Me
I began my journey at Michigan State University working towards a career as a veterinarian but decided to major in Dairy Science. This is where I met my husband, and after finishing my degree, we were married and starting a dairy farm. Access to health care in our rural area was sometimes difficult, and upon reading an article in The Farm Journal about Nurse Practitioners increasing access to health care in areas like ours, I had found my calling.
Professional Background
I attended Ferris State University, receiving my Associates Degree in Nursing and Bachelors of Science in Nursing. I worked at Mecosta County General Hospital as an RN, then went back to Michigan State University to obtain my Masters of Science in Nursing as a Family Nurse Practitioner. My many years of experience includes all ages of male and female patient’s.
I love the variety of my work, and partnering with people to help them achieve their best health possible.
Life Outside of the Practice
I live near Hersey, MI on a farm. My husband and I have two married children, four grandchildren, two dogs, and beef cattle. We are planning on starting an alpaca herd soon. In my spare time I enjoy kayaking, snowshoeing, cross country skiing, and hiking/walking, and fiber arts.
