About Me
I greatly value the therapeutic relationship that grows between the therapist and client over the course of treatment. I am always amazed at the potential for enlightenment that exists when human beings connect in genuine ways.
Professional Background
My counseling journey started with children, adolescents and their families in school and residential settings in San Jose, California. My spiritual beliefs inspired me to seek further training in the counseling field and obtain a Masters of Science in Marriage and Family Therapy from Western Seminary in Santa Clara, CA. I set out to learn how to help others and along the way, I found personal fulfillment as well. As a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) I am still building on foundational skills such as specializing in substance abuse through certification. I hope to gain expertise, as well, in attachment theory and cognitive behavioral therapy over my career.
Every human being deals with some sort of chaos and pain, the ones that thrive lean into the brokenness and face it directly. The human condition worsens when suffering is hidden, avoided or isolated. The battle can be overwhelming, but even small efforts can lead to great rewards.
Life Outside of the Practice
I still enjoy playing numerous sports. My goal is to pass on my hobbies to my children, so I always have someone to play with. I also enjoy watching them develop their interests and talents, and I value encouraging their passion.
