Samantha England Named Missaukee County Champion for Children
Samantha England, a Community Health Worker with Family Health Care, has been named the Missaukee County Champion for Children by the Northern Michigan Alliance for Children. She was honored with the award on April 1 in recognition of Child Abuse Prevention Month.
The Champion for Children award recognizes individuals who make a meaningful and lasting difference in the lives of children and families. England was selected for her unwavering dedication to supporting families in need, advocating for parents in crisis, and consistently demonstrating compassion, empathy, and creativity in her work.
“Samantha represents exactly what this recognition is meant to highlight,” said Elisha Call, Interim Executive Director for the Northern Michigan Alliance for Children. “She shows up for families in a way that is consistent, compassionate, and impactful, and that kind of presence makes a lasting difference for children.”
Call added, “Her work reflects a deep commitment to supporting families not just in moments of crisis, but in building stability and hope moving forward. We are honored to recognize her as our Champion for Children for Missaukee County.”
England expressed her gratitude for the recognition and the opportunity to serve families in her community.
“This recognition means so much to me because my passion for this work comes from personal experiences,” said England. “I understand how important it is for families to feel supported and not alone during challenging times, and having that understanding fuels my commitment to showing up for others every day.”
She continued, “This work is never done alone. I am incredibly grateful for the strong relationships we’ve built with community partners, including Salvation Army, NMCAA, and local shelters. These partnerships are essential in helping provide meaningful support and resources to the families we serve.”
As a Community Health Worker at Family Health Care, England plays a vital role in connecting families with resources, offering support during times of crisis, and helping build pathways toward long-term stability and well-being.
