BALDWIN, Michigan – Family Health Care (FHC) is pleased to announce a new team in White Cloud that will help you take a look at eye care possibilities. The Vision Center Optometrists are happy to see you today or tomorrow, or whatever works best for your schedule.
Dr. Krystyna Sherman, O.D., is now on staff and providing comprehensive eye examinations to determine patient’s eye care needs.
Dr. Sherman received her Bachelor of Science degree from Ferris State University (FSU) and her Doctor of Optometry from Illinois College of Optometry in Chicago. She performed her residency in Ocular Disease at the Grand Rapids VA. Dr. Sherman has practiced in several different professional settings including private practice, corporate optometry and in an academic/hospital setting.
Dr. Steve Kamrowski, joined the Vision Center team in November of 2016. He is a graduate of Ferris State University with both his undergraduate degree as well as his doctorate from the Michigan College of Optometry at FSU. He’s had a wide variety of clinical experience. Dr. Kamrowski was attracted to FHC “because of its environment that values patient care and its commitment to the communities it serves.” He is very comfortable treating young children as well as adults.
The optometric manager technician, Sharon Scates, has experience as an optician and many years of managerial experience in an eye care center. Rounding out the patient-centered team are Jessica Clark, a certified para-optometric technician and Krista Osbon, the optometry office assistant.
The Vision Center is located on the second floor of the Family Health Care location at 1035 Wilcox Avenue in White Cloud. It’s the latest service to be integrated with all of the other great services offered at the site. Those services include medical, dental, behavioral health, radiology, pharmacy and lab.
Team members will be traveling to treat patient vision needs in outreach locations which include the school settings of White Cloud and Grant and will be expanding those services to other neighboring schools. The goal is to provide eye examinations where it’s convenient for the patient as a means to break through any barriers to care – whether that be in a school setting, at a community event or in the Vision Center.
Services include examinations of diabetic conditions, emergency eye care, and comprehensive examinations. Eye glasses are available as well as contacts. Hours for the Vision Center are Monday through Friday, 9 am to 5 pm. You can call for an appointment at 231-689-7123. Most insurances are accepted with nominal fee adjustments for those who qualify.
