Optometrist joins Family Health Care
Shawn Andrus, OD, has joined the vision department at Family Health Care as an optometrist, working alongside Krystyna Sherman, OD.
Dr. Andrus graduated from the University of Utah in Salt Lake City with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biomedical Engineering and earned his Doctor of Optometry degree from Michigan College of Optometry in Big Rapids. He has spent the past ten years working as an optometrist in the Grand Rapids area. He is a member of the American Optometric Association and the Michigan Optometric Association.
“I’ve been providing vision services in a community health setting for more than a decade,” said Dr. Andrus. “I’m excited to continue this passion with Family Health Care. I’m a firm believer that vision services are an important part of integrated care.”
“We are fortunate to have Dr. Andrus join our vision team,” said Marcie Harris, director of operations and compliance at Family Health Care. “His knowledge and experience will benefit our patients and allow us to provide expanded optometric services in Newaygo and Lake counties.”
Dr. Andrus will provide comprehensive eye care for patients of all ages at Family Health Care’s vision centers at 1035 Wilcox St. in White Cloud and at the Loretta Adams-Ashby Health Center at 1101 Washington Ave. in Baldwin.
