BIG RAPIDS, Michigan – Family Health Care recently held a groundbreaking ceremony for its expansion project at its clinic at 730 Water Tower Rd. in Big Rapids.

The $4.2 million project will renovate and expand over 10,000 square feet of space. The project includes the addition of a retail pharmacy, four medical exam rooms, an additional behavioral health office, four dental operatories, a dental lab room, and several administrative offices.

“Family Health Care is well on its way to expanding and increasing access to much-needed healthcare services for the Big Rapids community,” said Julie Tatko, chief executive officer. “By expanding our clinic, we will be better positioned to address health disparities, including socioeconomic factors and access to quality and affordable care.”

Family Health Care opened its Big Rapids clinic in 2020, offering comprehensive medical, dental, and behavioral health services. The expansion project is expected to be completed by early 2026. The health care center is operating out of a temporary clinic at 15044 220th Ave. in Big Rapids.
